How Much Should a Jack Russell Terrier Puppy, 4 Months and About 3 Lbs Eat?

You can’t measure food in quantity. Feed your dog two times daily, and let her eat what she want’s within a period of 15-20 min. When she is full, she’ll stop eating. Pick up the food then. This will prevent obesity and your dog will be on an elimination schedule that will make life much easier for you. Dogs should however be fed 3 times daily until they are about 16 weeks old. Same rules apply.

It depends on the food and individual dog. If it’s high quality usually you need to feed less because it has less fillers. Feed Innova, Taste of the Wild, or at least Blue Buffalo imo. Feed your Jack 2x a day, as much as she will eat until she’s 6 months old, then you can judge whether she should be fed more or less. JRTs have a high metabolism, and depending on how much activity you do with her (and knowing jacks, it will be a LOT!) she’ll eat more than the average puppy the same weight as her.

Jacks at full grown are about 15 lbs. They are pretty much full grown at 6 months.
